Prof. Wole Soyinka, a Nobel laureate, has denied supporting Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential contender. Soyinka called a statement on social media falsely associating him to Tinubu’s endorsement.
According to a statement from his media office, Nigerians should not believe claims that Soyinka disparaged political parties and leaders in a message. “Soyinka never made a statement like that, under any circumstances.
The statement claims that it is the simple product of “peddlers of fake news and deception, who benefit from misinformation to obtain political advantages.”
English-language dramatist, novelist, poet, and essayist Wole Soyinka is from Nigeria. He was the first sub-Saharan African to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 for “with a wide cultural perspective and with lyrical overtones fashioning the drama of existence.”
