Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has been labeled a blackmailer and extortionist by an Accra High Court presided over by Judge Eric Baah.

After reading for about two hours and thirty minutes, Justice Baah said, “Given the above, I hold that the plaintiff is a blackmailer who uses blackmail to collect money from his opponents and those he does not like,” he added.
Yet he pointed out that despite being true and capable of defamation, the statements made about Anas could not be supported.
Following that, the presiding judge fined Anas GH50,000 in expenses.
The case was being heard by Justice Baah, a Court of Appeal judge who also served as a High Court judge.
