The petitioners, who are members of the family who won the case, said in a request for committal of contempt that The Herald published a “contemptuous and spiteful” article about the ruling on March 14, this year, which was a clear attack on the judiciary and scandalized the court.
When reached, Mr. Dogbey said he had received the application and that his attorneys would answer as soon as possible.

The 600 acres were to have access roads, sewers, electricity, and water provided as per a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) that ACPEL and the family signed on October 22, 1991. In the court’s opinion, ACPEL failed to uphold its commitments under the JVA.

The 200 acres that the family surrendered to the firm as part of the agreement were all undeveloped properties; consequently, the court decided that the JVA was unenforceable and, as a result, abrogated. All of the undeveloped lands on the 200 acres returned to the family.
