South Africa’s AKA Goes To Eternal Home

On February 18, 2023, South African rapper AKA—real name Kiernan Forbes—was buried in a private service.

On February 10, 2023, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane and the award-winning musician were sadly murdered and died in front of Wish Restaurant in Durban.

As a shooter came and opened fire, killing AKA and Tibz, they had just completed eating dinner with others at the establishment. The shooter has not yet been located and is still at large.

AKA’s public memorial service, which was broadcast live on his official YouTube account, was place on Friday at the Sandton Convention Center. Only ticket holders were permitted entry to the event.

A private provincial funeral for AKA was organized by the family, and only friends were invited.

As the rapper’s casket was driven by a BMW trailer hearse to the funeral home, admirers paid their condolences to him.
A convoy of BMW cars were reportedly present during the burial procession in remembrance of AKA’s preferred brand.
