The 32-year-old has joined a group of former Premier League players, including Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Jordan Henderson, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
After nearly ten years and a £60 million transfer to the Cityzens in 2018, the former Leicester City player—who won the Premier League with the Foxes—has departed England.
Mahrez posted a farewell message on social media to the squad, the supporters, and his teammates.
“Today marks the end of a five-year journey that has been filled with many experiences and an amazing chapter in my life. Before I left, I wanted to express my gratitude to the board, the manager, and the staff for giving me the chance to perform at the very top of my game.
To all of my teammates, past and present. It has been a pleasure to share the field and the dressing room with you.
Together, we’ve smashed innumerable records, accomplished seemingly unachievable feats, and never wavered in our self-belief despite the difficulties we encountered. I’m honored to have been a part of our final season, which will live on in the memory of our Club and those outside of it.

“I wanted to thank you, Cityzens, at this point. I’m grateful that you made me feel like a member of your family right away and gave me courage each time I wore this jersey and entered the field of play. I’ll always be appreciative of your love and support,” he stated.
Mahrez earned 10 significant accolades during his five seasons with City, including their most recent accomplishment of winning the Triple. In 236 games, he made 78 goals overall and contributed 59 assists.
