Our 66th Independence Day Meaningless; Stop It… Dumelo

In a tweet seen by Ghananewsaid.net, the actor based his argument on the nation’s current economic situation. He claims that postponing the festivities and commemorating the day with a broadcast speech from the president will save money for the nation.

“Hello @NAkufoAddo, with due respect, could you kindly call off all state, regional, and district Independence Day celebrations? On television, you can conduct your customary “fellow Ghanaians” broadcast. We will save millions of cedis as a result. Thank you very much,” he said.

The 66th anniversary of Ghana’s independence is observed on Monday, March 6, 2023.

The major ceremony is expected to take place in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region, as part of a national and regional celebration of the day.

President Akufo-Addo will give a speech at the ceremony and is anticipated to attend.
