John Dramani Mahama, a candidate for the National Democratic Congress‘ (NDC) presidential nomination, says the party is unconcerned by Bryan Acheampong’s assertion that the NPP won’t ever cede power to the NDC.

Speaking to party delegates at the Akuapem North and South Constituencies at Akropong in the Eastern region on Tuesday, Mr. Mahama said that the NDC would not downplay the role of God in the 2024 elections, despite the NPP’s stance.

He claimed that God had already predetermined the results of the 2024 elections and that nothing anyone could do would change that.

I attend church, and I have faith that sometimes when I kneel and pray, God talks to me. Don’t pay heed to some of the things that certain people are saying because it is God’s plan. God informed me that the moment is now and that we already had the necessary power.

Nobody can alter what God says, so let’s keep praying for Ghanaians and believing that whatever God has planned will materialize.

The former president is starting a three-day campaign tour in the Eastern Region. He spoke with Okere branch executives and delegates while on the tour.

The former president also urged party members to run a respectable campaign and support the eventual winner because the 2024 elections are the main goal.

In the meantime, the National Democratic Congress’ Eastern Regional Executives have endorsed the former president in advance of the party’s parliamentary and presidential contests.

Speaking to branch executives of the Okere and Akuapem North and South constituencies at Akropong, Mark Oliver Kevor, the NDC’s Eastern regional chairman, promised to fully support the former president and said that Mr. Mahama had previously been tried and tested.
