The Auditor – General (A – G) has reported that, about 25% of monies meant for the treatment and management of Covid – 19, was used for health and health – related purposes
According to the Auditor – General (A – G), the remaining money went into other Government’s flagship programs including the much touted Free Senior High School (SHS), Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP), among the many other state – sponsored programs
In particular, the Audito – General reported that, out of the Ghc 21 Billion that was mobilized for the purpose of Covid – 19, only Ghc 5.5 Billion was used for the purpose for which it was mobilized
The Auditor – General further reported that Ghana has been short – changed in the purchase of over $120 million Covid – 19 vaccines
According to the Auditor – General, over $81 Million of the purchased vaccines for Covid – 19 was not delivered
The report went ahead to direct the Director – General of the Ghana Health Services to do the needful in securing the remaining vaccines for the country
