In the play “Women at Work” (If you’re a male, Come), sensational Nana Ama Mcbrown, who is undoubtedly the most adored actress in Ghana, will dazzle audiences.
She plays the divisive therapist whose problems are worse than those of her clients. She acknowledges liking sex and refusing to settle for a partner who can’t fulfill her in bed as part of her character’s challenges.
Fiifi Coleman Productions and Fiifi Coleman are the creative forces behind this production with a wholly female ensemble.
What topics do women discuss when alone and free from prejudice and fear?
The play’s uncensored story ventures into the realm of women by tackling important issues like body shaming, female sexuality and psychology, mental health, financial independence, parenthood, and sexual harassment.
This is what happens when eight extraordinary ladies who are very different from one another are imprisoned together for a day.
A condescending remark sets off a chain of unusual conversations that result in several shocking revelations as each woman is forced to face her preconceptions as a woman, society’s stereotypes, and the different restrictions she currently faces as a woman in the twenty-four-hour period.
The play discusses the normal, intense topics that women frequently talk in private and for which most would not even dare to admit; topics range from the most repulsive, darkest secrets, ideas, and guilty pleasures to a number of unthinkable ones.
On March 4, 2023, at 4 pm and 8 pm, the National Theatre will present “Women at Work” (If you’re a man, come!).
