Unknown man’s body was pulled from the Densu River in Nsawam, Eastern area, after he sunk into the river while driving.
On the Accra – Kumasi route at night, the deceased is thought to have crashed and sunk into the river without being seen by any locals.
After the tragedy was discovered a few days later, the police, the Ghana National Fire Service, and NADMO worked together with assistance from the locals to remove the body and the automobile from the river.
The corpse is in the morgue being decomposed while it is being examined and identified.
On May 16, 2023, a Hyundai Sonata with the license plate GS7776-19 carrying a family of three who were traveling to a funeral for their late mother crashed into a river in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision on the Accra to Kumasi highway in the Eastern region. The family drowned in the river.
The driver was trying to make room for an approaching Sprinter bus that was passing another vehicle when he lost control of the steering wheel, somersaulted, and fell into a nearby river.
