In order to avoid repeating the inefficiency and corruption that are currently occurring under the Akufo-Addo administration, former president John Dramani Mahama has issued a warning to NDC members.
Former president Mahama remarked, “The commemoration of the June 4th uprising is to guard the survival of democracy and reflect on the current happenings in the country,” during the 44th anniversary of the insurrection in Hohoe.
The former president argued that the NPP’s mismanagement of the country is harming everyday Ghanaians, and he called for a united NDC to run in the 2024 elections.
We are accountable for organizing and ensuring that everyone in our nation hears our message of hope. The gloomy days will only linger for a brief period more, and a fresh dawn is just around the corner.
And when that new dawn arrives, the dysfunctional administration, the economic problems, the indifference to the condition of the populace, the egregious corruption, and the waste of the populace’s resources will all be history.
Do not be misled by shallow populism and meaningless sloganeering by those who have made your life tough for so many years. Don’t let them fool you into thinking that your place of origin or family ties will force you to vote for them in 2024. In order for Ghanaians to understand that we are not doomed to live with this degree of greed and impunity as a people, we must in government be different from what the NPP has been.
Worlanyo Tsekpo, the NDC’s newly elected candidate for the Hohoe constituency, has pledged to win back the parliamentary seat the party lost in the 2020 elections.
The Hohoe constituency’s residents are quite angry, according to Mr. Tsekpo, who spoke at the 44th anniversary celebrations of the June 4th revolt in Hohoe. This will likely lead to the electing of a new representative in the 2024 elections.
