Jordan Ayew, a forward for Crystal Palace, has stated his desire to play in the Ghana Premier League before calling it a career in football.
Ayew stated in an interview that he is thinking about joining the local league and that he is particularly interested in playing for an Accra-based team.
“The Ghana Premier League is something that I have in mind one day I could play for a team in Accra because I base in Accra,” he said to Gtv Sports Plus.
Ayew now plays for Premier League club Crystal Palace and has previously played for Premier League clubs Marseille, Sochaux, Aston Villa, and Swansea City. He re-signed with the Eagles earlier this year, keeping him on the team through the following season.
Ayew had an outstanding conclusion to the previous campaign, which coincided with the club’s ascent to a mid-table position and continued membership in the Premier League.
His possible participation in the Ghana Premier League would definitely increase enthusiasm and interest in the local competition due to his abundance of experience and demonstrated ability to score goals.
The striker, who is 29 years old, has over 90 caps and 19 goals for the Black Stars.
