Cristiano Ronaldo, a striker for Al Nassr, asserted that the Saudi Pro League “is better” than MLS and that he has no aspirations to play in America or join a team in Europe.
After participating in the first half of Al Nassr’s 5-0 preseason loss to LaLiga team Celta Vigo in his native Portugal, Ronaldo spoke to the media.

When asked about moving to the United States like his former adversary in Spain Lionel Messi, who was announced as an Inter Miami CF player on Sunday, the Portugal star responded, “The Saudi league is better than MLS.”
Ronaldo, who was replaced at halftime with the score at 0-0, added: “I opened the way to the Saudi league, and now all the players are coming here.”
In fact, a number of well-known athletes have already followed Ronaldo’s example this summer, accepting contracts to compete in the Saudi Pro League, including Karim Benzema, Marcelo Brozovic, N’Golo Kante, and Roberto Firmino. After joining Al Nassr on July 3, former Inter Milan midfielder Brozovic was on the field alongside Ronaldo on Monday.
