The musician from Assin Fosu provided insight into how he launched his music career in an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua Showtime, noting that it all started in the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church.
He claims that he doesn’t recall learning to sing; it came naturally to him.
My dad used to sing in the church, I’ll be honest. I was raised in the SDA faith. Looking back, I am unable to identify a specific time in my life when I would claim that I began to study music. It just came into me,” he said.

Kelvyn Brown, sometimes known as Kelvyn Boy, went on to say that everything began when he was given the opportunity to preach at church.
I once sang so brilliantly that I was put on a program. Since then, if I’m not given the chance to sing when we come for Sabbath, I cry,” he continued.
The honorable artist also emphasized a few of the shortcomings he had found in the SDA church.
Many talents are tamed by our activities as SDAs and our training. There are too many regulations, and if you act in a certain way, they will perceive you as tainted, he said.
Despite everything he went through, he came to the conclusion by saying, “In everything, what you go through should make you stronger. You won’t become flawless if there are no difficulties and problems.
