This comes after an audio clip that was played on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Sompa FM in Suame-Kumasi in which accusations were leveled against a number of people, including Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the NPP; Mr. John Boadu, the former general secretary of the NPP; and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In a statement that was written and released in Accra on Saturday, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated that “I have not participated in any interview, discussion, or conversation in which the statements contained in the clip have been made by me; that I have not participated in any plot or orchestration to impose the Vice President, HE Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the NPP.”

“That even a basic inspection of the audio clip would show that the voice that is there—and the voice that a commentator in the same clip is claiming to be my—is NOT mine. That the audio clip is an amateurish attempt to cause dissension inside the NPP as well as tarnish my name.
