The artist was among numerous notable foreigners and other professionals who received awards for raising the Ghanaian flag and making their fair share of contributions to the nation’s growth.
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Schepenbergweg in Amsterdam, the musician was honored by the Representative Council of Ghanaian Organizations in the Netherlands (RECOGIN) and the Embassy of Ghana in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
His Excellency Francis Danti Kotia, the Ghanaian ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, gave Lamisi a plaque and praised her for her outstanding achievements in representing her people and upholding her culture over the years, which are shown in her music, costumes, and performances.
“It’s crucial that we carry out this action today because it demonstrates our admiration for you, the other participants, and the laws you have chosen to follow. Honour encourages us to do actions that uphold lofty principles, protect the weak, and pave the path for a brighter future—one that benefits everyone. We are certain that this will inspire you to work more, and we also think that you have even bigger things in store for you,” he continued.
The ceremony was a part of events marking the “Ghana @ 66 Celebration,” which was organized by RECOGIN with support from Akwaaba Holland and the Ghanaian Embassy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The occasion was crowned by an excellent performance from Lamisi.
