Ghana Looses A Sports Icon, Alhaji Jawula

Ghana Football Association (GFA) former president who served between 1997 – 2001, Alhaji M N D Jawula is reported dead in the United States of America (USA) where he was receiving treatment after a short illness

Sources close to the family say, the former GFA president who doubles as the Lepowura of the Kujolobito Gate of Lepo-Kpembe in the Northern Region, has been battling a severe illness for some time now and was initially seeking treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), but had to be flown to the States for further treatment

The late M N D Jawula died at the age of seventy – three (73)

Upon hearing of the death of the death of the veteral sports administrator, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has since sent in their commiserations to the bereaved family. This, they shared in a twitter post

Besides chairing the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the late Alhaji M N D Jawuala was also chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee and the Ghana Premier League Organizing Committee until his demise.
