Aubameyang Leaves Chelsea For Marseille

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a striker from Gabon, has left Chelsea, according to a statement released by the club, and he has since joined Olympique Marseille of French Ligue 1.

The 34-year-old forward moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer. He made 21 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, but only managed to score three goals for the English team.

In just ten days in October, he scored all of his Chelsea goals. In back-to-back Champions League group stage games, Aubameyang scored goals against AC Milan and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Despite a bright beginning at the club, the player’s life in London was negatively impacted by Thomas Tuchel’s departure when Graham Potter, a former manager of Brighton and Hove Albion, took over.

Due to the English manager’s customary preference for wingers and attacking midfielders over Aubameyang to lead the lines, the former Arsenal player hardly ever played on a regular basis.

Chelsea’s season came to an unfortunate end as they settled for a 12th-place finish and a dismal goal-scoring record.

Olympique Marseille joins the 34-year-old’s seventh senior club after loan stints with several clubs throughout his early career with AC Milan. Prior to joining Borussia Dortmund, he had played for St Ettiene, scoring 141 goals in 213 games. Despite his four years of deadly play for Arsenal, a string of mishaps cost him the club’s captaincy, and he left to join Barcelona.
